Product Description
It mounts on the front of the FX2NC main unit and provides up to 16,000 steps of ROM program memory (2,000 / 4,000 / 8,000 steps selectable), allowing programs to be stored without battery backup. In combination with the EXTR (FNC 180) instruction it also adds an inverter communication function, enabling operation control of Mitsubishi inverters as well as parameter read and write directly from the PLC. The board is applicable to FX2NC PLCs of version 3.00 or later (serial number 15**** or later); on earlier versions only 16k-step user program capacity is supported. Mitsubishi Electric ended production of this memory board in March 2017, so it is now supplied as new old stock or refurbished units. The Mitsubishi FX2NC-ROM-CE1 is a function expansion memory board designed for the MELSEC FX2NC series compact programmable controllers.

Version & Model Difference
The FX2NC-ROM-CE1 is the FX2NC version of the function expansion memory; the FX2N-ROM-E1 offers the same 16k-step ROM and inverter communication function but is shaped for the FX2N main unit. Compared with EEPROM cassettes such as the FX2NC-EEPROM-16C, this ROM board is intended for fixed program storage and inverter communication rather than frequent rewriting. All FX2/FX2N(C) memory cassettes, including this model, were discontinued by Mitsubishi Electric in March 2017.
