It combines an infrared emitter with an OPIC output chip in a 14-pin mini-flat, half-pitch (1.27 mm) surface-mount package. The device includes a built-in IGBT short-circuit protection circuit and a direct-drive output stage rated at 0.4 A peak, with a high-speed response of 0.5 us maximum and 4,000 Vrms input-output isolation. Because the input and output stages are optically isolated, the PC929 is used where control logic must be separated from high-voltage power switching, such as motor drives and industrial inverters.
